Services are in firm control of the match as play resumes on Day Two, having reached 152 for 4 after skittling out Jammu & Kashmir for a paltry 85. The wrecker-in-chief was Raushan Raj, playing only his second First-Class match: he ran through the hosts with remarkable figures of 7 for 38. Yashpal Singh will resume batting today, having scored a solid 47 on Day One. He will be accompanied by Sufiyan Alam, who is on 5. Khalid Ahmad’s seven-wicket haul for 61 did it all for Services.

Live Cricket Score Services 174/6 | Overs 54.1 | Batting: Yashpal Singh 51(94), Khalid Ahmad 0(5): At stumps of Day 1, Services were 100 for three with Rajat Paliwal and Yashpal on crease. While the latter continues to frustrate the Jammu and Kashmir bowlers, Paliwal departed early on Day 2. He became Umar Nazir’s second wicket of the match after the bowler dismssed opener Aanshul Gupta in the eighth over yesterday. Paliwal’s wicket was folowed by dismissals of Sufiyan Alam and Shashaank Sharma in the 40th over and 51st over respectively. OUT! Rajat Paliwal c Samad b Umar Nazir 70(78) OUT! Raj made his debut against Services, helping rout them with 3 for 14 and 1 for 45, scoring 22 not out in between. At the end of the innings his career figures read 11 wickets at a ridiculous 8.82. His new-ball partner Diwesh Pathania (who had 13 for 83 on debut in the same match) had 3 for 38; his numbers now read 19 wickets at 10.89. If these numbers are anything to go by, Services have a potent new-ball attack.

Jammu & Kashmir succumbed meekly, with Shubham Khajuria (24) and Parvez Rasool (24 not out) being the only ones to reach double-figures. In fact, they were 62 for 8 before Rasool gave them some charge before running out of partners. The innings lasted 43 overs.

Services, in response, were reduced to 15 for 2 and then 49 for 3 before Rajat Paliwal decided to counterattack. His 70 came off only 78 balls and included 12 fours, and he added 88 with Yashpal in a mere 101 balls. Services should ideally press for a big lead on Day Two, aiming for an innings victory.

Brief scores:
