Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Qualifier 2 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016 match between Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings at Shere Bangla National Stadium at Dhaka. Rajshahi Kings won their thrilling contest against Chittagong Vikings in the Eliminator by 3 runs and as a result have made it to this stage. Khulna Titans on the other hand lost their Qualifier 1 match against Dhaka Dynamites. As a result of this win, the Dynamites directly progress to the final. Since Khulna Titans finished in the top 2 of the BPL 2016 table, they get another crack at making it to the final. The winner of this match as a result, will face Dhaka Dynamites in the final of the BPL 2016 on December 9.

Skipper Mamudullah has led from the front in this tournament, scoring 374 runs so far in the tournament at a strike rate of  over 120, which include a couple of crucial fifties. As far as the Rajshahi Kings are concerned, Sabbir Rahman has been their star batsman, scoring 308 runs, striking at over 125, but has scored just  one fifty in his 13 innings. Among the wicket-takers, Junaid Khan of the Titans leads the way with 20 wickets in the tournament at a miserly economy rate of just 6.08. It is indeed baffling as to how he does not find a place in the Pakistan side, after a string of consistent performances. As far as the Rajshahi Kings are concerned, Abu Hasan with 12 wickets is the leader of the pack with 12 scalps. Not far behind is off-spinner Mehedi Hasan, who has picked up 11 wickets in the tournament so far.

Rajshahi Kings skipper Darren Sammy has been in many crunch matches in his career and will look to inspire his side to a win in this match and go into the final with a chance of winning the tournament. He has led West Indies to two World T20 triumphs, with the last one being earlier this year. A win in the BPL will be a perfect way to round the year off for him.

Mahmudullah on the other hand has shown great leadership qualities and with the likes of Junaid, Shafiul Islam, Hasanuzzaman in the side, they certainly pose a huge threat. This will be alosely contested match. The team, which holds their nerves at crucial moments will walk away as winners and also a chance to win this edition of the BPL.
