KXIP, on the other hand, have displayed an ordinary performance so far. In fact, they were compelled to replace David Miller with Murali Vijay as the captain. Vijay has been in ominous touch and the only batsman who provided impetus even in crunch situations. The likes of Glenn Maxwell, Shaun Marsh and Wriddhiman Saha failed to go all guns blazing at the middle order. However, good news for KXIP fans is that South African batting genius Hashim Amla will make an IPL debut in today’s encounter. For KXIP to qualify for the Playoffs, Amla along with Vijay have to lay a solid foundation for the middle order to put them in the driver’s seat.

DD, on the other hand, have excellently performed in all the departments. However, DD captian Zaheer and in-form Quinton de Kock were rested due to injuries in their previous contests. For DD to continue the winning momentum, they would need Zaheer and de Kock’s services against KXIP. All in all, DD have a slight advantage over KXIP, given the solid team composition they boast of.
