KKR, the defending champions, were off to a good start, as they won the opening game convincingly against former champions Mumbai Indians, by 7 wickets at Eden Gardens. However, they lost their second game to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at their home ground by 3 wickets. Playing their third game against the runners up of the last edition, whom they beat in the final, KKR would look to bounce back to winning ways. KXIP, on the other hand, started their 2015 campaign with a loss to Rajasthan Royals, followed by a win against Mumbai Indians and followed by another loss to Delhi Daredevils. Playing their fourth game of the season, KXIP too would look to bounce back to winnings ways and prove a point to the defending champions after losing the final to them, last season. KKR seldom make changes to their team and but they might be tempted to bring back Umesh Yadav into the playing eleven. Robin Uthappa had the Orange Cap last year but has not quite taken off in similar fashion. He will want to get going with a good score.
