Madhya Pradesh 181/0 | Live Cricket Score, Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu, Ranji Trophy 2015-16, Group B match, Day 3 at Indore: Madhya Pradesh finish day on high

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the Group B match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16, between Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The match is being played at the Emrald Heights School Ground in Indore. The four-day match is heavily tilted in favour of the touring team, which is Tamil Nadu. They have batted for two days and have put up a massive total of 517 for 7 from 180 overs. Every single batsman from the Tamil Nadu team has made merry on a docile track, barring their opening batsman K Bharath Shankar, who was dismissed for just one run.

Live cricket score Madhya Pradesh 181/0 | Overs 65 | Batting: Aditya Shrivastava 73(206), Jalaj Saxena 99(189): Madhya Pradesh have ended the day on a high thanks to a lovely display by the openers by Shrivastava and Saxena. Saxena is merely one shot of a hundred and will look to achieve the landmark first thing on Day Four. That said, they still trail by 415 runs and must be wary to not throw away wickets.

Live cricket score Madhya Pradesh 156/0 | Overs 35 | Batting: Aditya Shrivastava 62(179), Jalaj Saxena 87(168): Madhya Pradesh have done a brilliant job so far. The openers have been absolutely outstanding. Jalaj Saxena is closing in on a hundred. Aditya Shrivastava has been a tad more cautious in his approach.

Live cricket score Madhya Pradesh 114/0 | Overs 35 | Batting: Aditya Shrivastava 40(110), Jalaj Saxena 67(105): Brilliant first wicket stand by these two batsmen. Just what Madhya Pradesh would’ve hoped for after Tamil Nadu’s mammoth first innings score of 596 for nine. However, they’re still 482 runs behind and they have to carry on the good work.

Live cricket score Madhya Pradesh 56/0 | Overs 20 | Batting: Aditya Shrivastava 20(62), Jalaj Saxena 31(61): Madhya Pradesh’s openers have been very steady up to this point in the game. The key for them is wicket preservation and they’re doing it the right way so far. But all it takes to make an opening is a single wicket and MP must look to not give Tamil Nadu that opening.

Live cricket score Madhya Pradesh 31/0 | Overs 11 | Batting: Aditya Shrivastava 12 (42), Jalaj Saxena 16 (27): The Madhya Pradesh openers have cleared the first hurdle which was to see off the half session prior to Lunch. MP will be delighted if they can see off another session after this and yet another after that. TN will be equally delighted at the fall of each wicket.

Live cricket score Tamil Nadu 596/9 decl. | Overs 202.2 | Batting: L Vignesh 17 (22): Tamil Nadu declared at 596 for nine which is a formidable first innings score and they’ll look to secure the first innings lead by picking regular wickets. If it is frequent enough they could even go for an innings defeat.

Live cricket score Tamil Nadu 557/8 | Overs 192 | Batting: Aswin Crist 25 (71), L Vignesh 17 (22): Tamil Nadu have reached a score that is pretty much out of reach for Madhya Pradesh, but they’re continuing to bat. Aswin Crist and L Vignesh at the crease now.

The Nos 7 and 8 batsmen from the Tamil Nadu team — J Kousik and Malolan Rangarajan — have slammed brilliant centuries for their side. Kousik fell after a brilliant 151, which came off 272 balls. His innings was studded with 17 boundaries and two sixes.

On the other hand, Rangarajan scored an unbeaten 124 runs off 226 runs. Rangarajan slammed seven boundaries and three sixes, and in all likeliness, the Tamil Nadu team is likely to carry on in the same passion on the third day as well.

There were other batsmen in the touring party who also made merry. Baba Aparajith and Ramaswamy Prasanna scored half-centuries. Aparajit faced 133 balls, cracked only six boundaries to score 56 runs, whereas Prasanna faced 166 balls and scored 70 runs with the help of eight boundaries.

The bowlers of the home side were butchered mercilessly as none of them could stop the juggernaut. Ishwar Pandey and Puneet Datey claimed two wickets each, whereas Udit Birla bowled 22 overs and claimed three wickets, giving away only 46 runs. Birla also bowled seven maiden overs.
