Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day One of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 Group B game between Mumbai and Punjab at Mumbai. Harbhajan Singh’s absence means that Yuvraj Singh is leading a powerful Punjab side against Mumbai. Mumbai who are the best Ranji team since the inception of the trophy has not performed well in the last two Ranji Trophies. Their performance in the first match of this year’s Ranji Trophy was also not good. That aside they would look to play well in this match against Punjab. However, Punjab players are in good form and most of their batters played exceedingly well in their last match hence it won’t be easy for Mumbai. Read all Ranji Trophy 2015-16 team previews here

Although Punjab won the last match convincingly, still they cannot take this match lightly because it is against the best Ranji team ever— Mumbai. Punjab beat Railways by an innings and 126  runs on Day Four of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 Group B encounter at Mohali. Railways were always in danger of the innings defeat starting the fourth and final day of the game. Varun Khanna backed up the hard work of the Punjab batsmen by picking up as many as eight wickets for just 97 runs to bowl out Railways for a score of 282 in their second innings. Punjab will be delighted with their work and a home win and will hope to build on it going further into the tournament.
