In reply, Uttar Pradesh started off well, courtesy of a 92 against Himanshu Asnora. Eklavya Dwivedi and Piyush Chawla are currently batting at 50 and 54 respectively and will look to add some more runs on the final day and get as close as possible to Mumbai’s score. Siddesh Lad also chipped in with 89 to help Mumbai’s cause. Vishal Dabholkar, Abhishek Nayar and Balwinder Singh Sandhu are the wicket-takers for Mumbai. Shreyas through his ton became the leading run-getter in the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season with a strike rate of over 100. Rohit was released from India’s Test squad to play for Mumbai and his century puts him in firm contention for a place in the Indian team for the second Test against South Africa at Bangalore.

With the match set to end in a draw, Uttar Pradesh will go all guns blazing to reach Mumbai’s score of 610. They are far behind at this stage and with only five wickets in hand and an enture day to bat out, it looks unlikely they will be able to do so. Mumbai will have to be happy with win by first innings lead once again.
