Good Morning! Hello and Welcome to Cricket Countryâs coverage of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Womenâs Asia Cup T20I 2016. This is Match No. 6, as Sri Lanka Women take on Nepal Women. Here, you will get all the live updates of this crackerjack of a match, which will be played at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground, Bangkok. Sri Lanka have played just one T20I post their poor show in ICC Womenâs World T20 earlier this year. They locked horns with Pakistan in their tournament opener, finishing second. On the other hand, Nepal women also did not get off to a desirable start, losing their only match played so far against Pakistan women.
Nepal Women will have to take this game seriously and come back strong before it gets too late for them to survive in the tournament. Their first game was a forgettable affair, as they collapsed to 48 in 18.1 overs. Pakistan women did the formalities of chasing the target in a matter 10 overs. They have a task in hand to stop Sri Lanka’s challenge, who will also have to regroup after losing from Pakistan.
Talking about Sri Lanka, their batting was mediocre, as they slumped to 112 for 8. Pakistan then chased down swiftly in just 18.2 overs. Sri Lankan batters got starts, but no one stood there end till the end to get their side to a fighting total. Their bowlers were upto the mark to stretch the game till 18.2 overs, but did not get enough breakthroughs.
Both teams have a job in hand to bounce back and do it convincingly to bolster their progress in the tournament.
