JP Duminy scored 38 and Hashim Amla 33 to push South Africa to a competitive total of 165 for seven in the third and final Twenty20 international against New Zealand

Duminy played a quickfire knock of 38 which included two boundaries and as many sixes at the Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday.

Richard Levi, who played a brilliant innings of 117 not out in the second T20 to help his side level the series, failed with the bat scoring just 11 runs.

New Zealand failed to restrict South Africa batsmen after opting to bowl first, despite none of the South Africa batsman getting to a big score.

Hashim Amla struck four boundaries and a six in his innings of 33, which came off 22 balls.

Duminy played a key role in pushing South Africa’s total to 165 as he was involved in a 62-run stand for the fourth wicket with skipper AB de Villiers, who scored 29.

Rob Nicol was the most impressive New Zealand bowler taking two for 20 in his spell of three overs.

Brief Scores: South Africa 165 for 7 in 20 overs (JP Duminy 38, Hashim Amla 33; Rob Nicol 2 for 20, Tim Southee 2 for 22) vs New Zealand.
