Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Australia‘s tour game against the Northamptonshire. Today is Day 3 and we will bring all the updates of Day’s play here. Not a single was bowled on Day 1 due to continuous rain. The match started on Day 2 and Australia’s preparations for the final Ashes Test against England suffered a blow as Northamptonshire’s Steven Crook condemned the beleaguered tourists to another dispiriting spell in the field on Saturday. Australia-born Crook’s unbeaten 142 put his fellow countrymen to the sword in Northamptonshire’s first innings total of 396 all out. Crook’s memorable day continued when Australia started their reply as he took a catch to remove David Warner for six off the bowling of Maurice Chambers, with the visitors reaching stumps on 13 for one, AFP reported. Live Cricket Score | Australia 192/8 | Pat Cummins 6 (39), Nathan Lyon:  6 (25): Australians are now struggling to save the follow-on and find themselves in deep trouble at the moment. This is not the kind of practice they would have hoped for when they started this match. They are already down and out in the Ashes and after this pooer performance, their morale might just take a further hit.

Live Cricket Score | Australia 15/2 | Shaun Marsh 8 (32) Adam Voges 1 (7): Australian finished with 13 for one at stumps on Day 2. David Warner was dismissed for mere six off Maurice Chambers and on Day 3 morning, they have lost the wicket of Steven Smith. No a very good morning for the Australians.

On Day 2, Northamptonshire player Ben Sanderson was hit on the head by a Pat Cummins bouncer as a result of which play was stopped momentarily. The play immediately stopped after after this incident. During the stoppage the Australian team doctor was on the field to have a look at Sanderson. After a few minutes, play resumed and he was able to carry on without any damage.  Day One of the match was washed out due to rain. Rain has stayed away thus far on Day Two and the Australians will be delighted to get some practice under their belts ahead of the fifth Test.
