Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage of the second day’s play between Australia and Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in the third and final Test. Australia will resume the day on 365 for 3. The 20-year-old Matt Renshaw scored his maiden Test ton and looks set to convert it into a double hundred as he has ended Day One unbeaten on 167. Earlier in the day, David Warner stole all the spotlight as he became only the fifth player after Victor Trumper, Charles Macartney, Majid Khan and Don Bradman to score a century before lunch on the first day of a Test. He is also the fourth Australian to do so and this has been achieved on Australian soil for the very first time.

Wahab Riaz was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing the wickets of Warner and then of Usman Khawaja. By pouching the catch of Warner, Sarfraz Ahmed became the sixth Pakistani wicketkeeper to complete 100 dismissals. Khawaja and Steven Smith were the only two players who were not among the runs. Smith was dismissed caught behind off Yasir Shah for 24, while Khawaja nicked one to the ‘keeper. Australia, however, had good partnerships throughout the day. The opening stand between Warner and Renshaw was of 151. Khawaja and Renshaw then put up 52 for the second wicket and the partnership between Peter Handscomb and Renshaw is now worth 121. Handscomb is just 10 short of yet another fifty.
