We will see you here with all the updates from that first Test. Till then, it is a goodbye from here! Ciao:)

The key takeaways for Pakistan from this warm-up fixture shall be their pace trio’s performance. Mohammad Aamer, Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz, all did well in the game. Azhar Ali and Younis Khan got fifties while Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz too had good outings with the bat. The latter also chipped in with wickets in the second innings. All-in-all, it was a good game for Pakistan. Though they would want a better show from their batsmen when they take on Australia in the first Test from December 15 at Gabba, which will be a Day-Night affair.

A clinical performance by Pakistan has ensured their victory over the opponents CA XI by 201 runs. After setting a target of 311 for the hosts on the final day, the Pakistani bowlers did not take much time — 27.3 overs to be precise — to wrap things up and start the tour on a positive note. The opposition was not particularly a strong one, but it is always good to start a tour with a win. And mind you, the same opponents bundled out Pakistan for 208 in the first innings. They bowled well in the second innings too, but it was their batting that let them down in both the innings.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage from Day Three of Pakistan’s three-day tour match against Cricket Australia (CA) XI at Cairns. This contest is being played under lights with the pink ball to help the visitors prepared for the series opener against Australia. The first Test between both sides begins from December 15 and is a day-night affair at The Gabba in Brisbane. The other two Tests between Pakistan and Australia will be played at Melbourne and Sydney. The touring party will also play five ODIs on the tour. Pakistan have done well in this contest versus Cricket Australia XI so far with the ball, but their batting remains a worry. Pakistan have their nose ahead and will be eager to press for a victory on Day Three.

Misbah-ul-Haq, who faced a one-match ban in the last Test versus New Zealand, is back to lead his side in this match. On the other hand, CA XI is being led by 23-year-old William Bosisto. In the first innings, Pakistan flopped with the bat barring Younis Khan, who scored a half-century while Asad Shafiq, Misbah, Sarfraz Ahmed and Azhar Ali got starts but failed to convert. Being bundled out for paltry 208, visitors came back in the game after inspired spells from Mohammad Aamer, Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz.

Pakistan’s pace battery’s performance must have kept them in good stead going into the first Test but their batsmen were again found wanting in the second innings. The second day ended with Pakistan reeling at 124 for 5. Pakistan’s lead stands at 218 and they will like to add few more to that before declaring. It will be tricky for CA XI to survive the day in front of visitors’ pacers. The key players from CA XI will be Bosisto, Matthew Short and Jake Winter to ensure they end on a high.
