England captain Alastair Cook s hundred helped England to set a respectable score of 250 runs for the loss of four wickets against Pakistan in second One-Day International (ODI) at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Winning the toss, England opted to bat first. Kevin Pietersen, who opened the batting for England on Wednesday, became Saeed Ajmal s first victim. But Cook continued with his fine form from the first ODI to score another brilliant hundred.
England captain s dismissal in the 41st over did not decelerate England scoring as all-rounder Ravi Bopara played a fine knock contributing runs in the middle-order. The all-rounder along with Eoin Morgan consolidated England innings with a valiant 56 run partnership.
Bopara along with Cook earlier contributed to England s score with a 78- run partnership.
Brief Score: England 250 for 4 (Alastair Cook 102, Ravi Bopara 58; Aizaz Cheema 2 for 49, Shahid Afridi 1 for 38, Saeed Ajmal 1 for 54) vs Pakistan
