Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the third and final one-Day International (ODI) between New Zealand and Pakistan at Eden Park, Auckland. I am Rishad D’Douza along with Pramod Ananth and we will bring you updates of the match. New Zealand will welcome back their regular skipper Brendon McCullum back into the playing XI after he missed almost a month’s action following an injury he suffered during the series against Sri Lanka. New Zealand lead the three-match series 1-0 and will hope to double their lead in this match. Pakistan were denied a chance to draw level in the series as rain played spoilsport at Napier and washed away the match. Pakistan will however be happy, if they manage to draw level in the series. The second catch was also to Guptill albeit at slip off Henry’s bowling to remove Azhar Ali for a lowly 3.

TOSS: Pakistan have won the toss and will bat first at Eden Park. They have not done well chasing so far.

It was earlier reported that Martin Guptill may miss this match due to an injury. If so, Tom Latham will retain his place in the side and open the innings alongside McCullum. McCullum was named in the 13-man squad for the series against Australia. The Test and ODI series against Australia will be McCullum’s final series in international cricket. Pakistan vs New Zealand 2015-16, 3rd ODI at Auckland: Preview

Pakistan will look to spoil McCullum’s return, They put up an excellent fight in the first match, where they had New Zealand in all sorts of trouble at 99 for 6 at one stage, They let them off the hook as Henry Nicholls and the tail helped New Zealand put up a match-winning total on the board. Pakistan possess the talent to win the match and level the series, but will have to be at the top of their games for those 100 overs.
