That will be stumps on Day 4. Yasir Shah spun his magic around West Indies and the hosts have a glaring task avoiding a likely defeat. Will they be able survive against Yasir on the last day of the game is the biggest question now!
Do join us tomorrow for the last day’s play in this riveting encounter straight from Sabina Park. Till the Good night from me! 🙂

  • 3:58 AM IST

Yasir Shah has struck gold here! He has got the important wicket of Kieron Powell. He tossed it up with the extra bounce coming into play. Powell comes ahead to defend but the extra bounces and the ball kisses his bat and pops to first slip where Younis Khan takes a dolly!

  • 3:46 AM IST

That was a quicker delivery from Yasir and it did skid after pitching and hits the pad of Hope who tries to come forward. But he was late in coming forward and Yasir has his 3rd wicket!

  • 3:45 AM IST

Shai Hope has been given out by umpire against Yasir. he took some time and finally went for the review. The review shows that he is plumb and West Indies have lost the wicket and a review!

  • 3:44 AM IST

    Is that out?

  • 3:44 AM IST

Kieron Powell is displaying some excellent counterattack here. Powell has taken the big hitting particularly against Yasir who has dominated the proceedings. he has quickly moved into his 40s and as I mentioned earlier, his wicket will be crucial for both teams. Not only today for the remaining overs but also for the rest of the day!

  • 3:29 AM IST

Yasir Shah has taken the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer! An unlucky way to get dismissed. The ball spun toooo much from the rough patch. The batsman went back trying to fend the ball but the ball hits his handle-glove than on his pads and then rolls over onto the stumps!

  • 3:25 AM IST

Fifty run partnership between Powell and Hetmyer. And Hetmyew does that with a huge six over midwicket region!
And this partnership has come up in just 61 deliveries

  • 3:13 AM IST

Kieron Powell is the key here. He is a very well known batsman and the more he bats, the happy West Indies will be. West Indies can’t afford to lose any more wickets here and Shimron Hetmyer and Powell have played well. They have kept the scoreboard ticking and are also dealing in boundaries. Anything short or wide of off stump has gone past the boundary rope!

  • 2:43 AM IST

The Day Four wicket has now slowly started becoming a spinner’s paradise and West Indies are going to have a tough time dealing Yasir. The ball is skidding after pitching. As Waqar Younis just mentioned – It is going to hard for the tight handers but harder for the left handers

  • 2:40 AM IST

First wicket for Pakistan. Yasir Shah has cleaned up Kraigg Brathwaite. High backlift from Brathwaite, deceived by pace and the ball skid off after pitching. Before the bat came down, the ball had rattled the stumps!

  • 2:01 AM IST

The onue from stopping the West Indies batsmen would be on Mohammad Aamer who has already taken 6 wickets in the first innings!

  • 2:01 AM IST

So the players are back and now West Indies have a tough task of getting over the 121-run lead which Pakistan have over them!

  • 1:32 AM IST

Meanwhile, Pakistan innings was all out for 407 which means they now have a lead of 121 runs!

  • 1:32 AM IST

Pakistan are out and Misbah is left stranded on 99*!

How unfortunate can one be? 🙁

  • 1:22 AM IST

Mohammad Abbas is playing exceelent cricket here. he has stayed there for his captain not attempting anything that is rash or taking any risks! With every ball that he defends the whole Pakistan supporters crowd including their dressing room are applauding his effort because they know what innings he is playing!

  • 1:18 AM IST

Misbah-ul-Haq is 4 runs away from his 11th Test hundred!
    Will he get there?

  • 12:49 AM IST

Meanwhile, Yasir Shah has gone back. Yasir came on the front foot pushing the ball on the off side and went for the run immediately. But Jermaine Blackwood the sub fielder ran through and hit the stumps directly! Direct throw and Yasir was gone!

  • 12:47 AM IST

Misbah is definitely in his TUK-TUK mode here. He is no hurry, happy to defend balls and scoring only when loose deliveries.

  • 12:35 AM IST

Misbah has survived a catch in the slip cordon. Gabriel bowled an excellent out-swinging delivery which Misbah managed to get a thick edge attempting a drive. Kieran Powell did catch the ball but wasn’t sure if it was a clean take. So the umpires had to go upstairs to check. The reply suggested that the ball had bounced just before Powell took it. So Misbah survives!

  • 12:22 AM IST

West Indies have lost both their reviews whereas Pakistan have both remaining. Yasir Shah is having a tough time against Joseph and it seems like Misbah might just go for big ones soon. has he had enough of this?
Is counterattack the best form right now?
Runs are not coming for Pakistan, so he might as might just up the ante and score runs before the entire Pakistan innings perishes!

  • 12:08 AM IST

This is just good bowling from West Indies. Alzarri Joseph is swinging the ball despite the ball becoming old. Even if Misbah has held his end tight from one side, they have taken wickets of the other batsmen.

West Indies will look to dismiss the entire Pakistan team before the conceded 100-run lead.

  • 12:06 AM IST

  • 12:03 AM IST

Bowled’em! Alzarri Joseph gets his 3rd wicket. Bowls it little outside off on good length and the ball nips in sharply taking the bells off the leg stump. Wahab Riaz left a big-big gap between bat and pad and the stumps were rattled

  • 11:52 PM IST

Misbah is looking to keep the maximum striker here and I think that is what he should have done with Aamer as well. Aamer is definitely a good hitter of the ball but he should have understood the situation and the need of partnership!

  • 11:51 PM IST

The situation is a little tricky here for Pakistan. They have a 60-65 run lead here but wickets are tumbling now. They need someone who can stay with Misbah for a while. Scoring runs is not an issue right now, but Pakistan need a partnership of at least 30-40 runs. If they manage to get it – 100-run + lead can be dominating anytime for the hosts!

  • 11:44 PM IST

And now Pakistan have lost their 7th wicket as Mohammad Aamer has gone back to the dressing room!

Alzarri Joseph bowled it short and wide which Aamer chases but all hemanaged was a thick edge which Dowrich takes comfortably!

  • 11:43 PM IST

Yesterday we saw Younis completing 10,000 Test runs and Now its Misbah time. The veteran Pakistan skipper has completed 5,000 Test runs

  • 10:30 PM IST

Sarfraz Ahmed has scored his 12th Test fifty off just 59 deliveries. Excellent knock from him. He came out to play under pressure and has rotated the strike since then. He has complemented Misbah very well and has taken the role of scoring runs in a flurry releasing his captain from the pressure!

  • 10:11 PM IST

Gabriel walked into Sarfraz here at the end of the previous over. Gabriel was taking his cap from the umpire and Safraz was standing beside. There was no communcation between them according to the footage, but out of nowhere, Gabriel walked in on Sarfraz. A shoulder push!
Umpires seemed to have spoken with him but the cause is not known yet!

Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day Four of the first Test between Pakistan and West Indies at Sabina Park, Jamaica. I am Rohan Sawant and I will bring you the live updates of this match. Apart from the good cricket that we have witnessed in this Test, the game has been marred due to weather. Nevertheless, Sunday was all about Younis Khan becoming the first Pakistani entrant to the elite 10,000-run club. Yes, the awaited moment finally arrived two balls after the tea interval when Younis swept to the fine-leg boundary to reach the milestone. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Pakistan vs West Indies 2017, 1st Test at Jamaica

Day Three began with West Indies still batting. Mohammad Aamer’s six-for ensured West Indies were bundled over 286. West Indies skipper Jason Holder remained unbeaten on 57. He later claimed the wicket of comeback man Ahmed Shehzad. Pakistan were reduced to 54 for 2 at one stage and they took stumps on Day Three at 201 for 4. Shannon Gabriel was the most impressive West Indian bowler with figures of 16-5-37-2.

Pakistan have their skipper Misbah-ul-Haq at the crease alongside Asad Shafiq. Misbah, who is playing his last series as an international cricketer, is now 44 runs short of another milestone i.e. 5,000 Test runs. Misbah will be only the seventh Pakistani cricketer to reach the landmark. With forecast of rains on Monday, a draw looms over the Test. Pakistan will however want to make a game out of it and look to pile up quick runs.
