Madhya Pradesh have done well to keep the strong Punjab bowling attack at bay throughout Day One, finishing on 251 for 5. The hero of the day has certainly been Aditya Shrivastava, who batted through the day with a gritty 105. Some late wickets in the day by Pargat Singh and Sarabjit Ladda gave Punjab some hope, but Shrivastava held firm. Live cricket scores Punjab 182/2 | Overs 56 | Batting: Uday Kaul 55(100), Mandeep Singh 22(40): At stumps of Day 2, Punjab trailed the visitors by 188 runs. However, Madhya Pradesh bowlers have not had much success, having dismissed just two batsmen so far in the match. Punjab openers Manan Vohra and Jiwanjot Singh gave a decnet start before getting out for 32(59) and 64(138) respectively.

Live cricket scores Punjab 56/0 | Overs 18 | Batting: Manan Vohra 31(57), Jiwanjot Singh 25(51): Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for a decent total of 370 with opener Aditya Shrivastava top scoring with his 131 from 315 balls. His innings included 10 boundaries and one six. Later in the game, Rameez Khan contributed a vital 66 from 130 balls. Meanwhile, Punjab have had a good start to their innings, with no loss of a wicket. From here, they trail MP by 314 runs.

Shrivastava (105 in 267 balls, 6 fours, 1 six) and Jalaj Saxena (70 in 187 balls, 7 fours) batted past the 60th over, putting up a solid opening stand of 152. They were in no hurry, grinding the opposition bowling attack bit by bit. Once Brainder Sran ran through Saxena’s defence, however, the floodgates opened, and Udit Birla, Naman Ojha, captain Devendra Bundela, and Harpreet Singh all fell in quick succession. Madhya Pradesh were reduced to 203 for 5 in 78 overs.  For once it seemed Pargat and Ladda had brought Punjab back in the match, but Rameez Khan (35 not out in 48 balls, 4 fours, 1 six) counterattacked.

The unbroken sixth stand saw 48 being added in 14 overs, Rameez dominating the partnership. Shrivastava reached his hundred at the end of the day. Yuvraj Singh used six bowlers, but could not put a dent in his concentration.
