Dhaka Dynamites suffered a defeat at the hands of Rajshahi Kings in their previous encounter last night. Rajshahi Kings won the contest by six wickets as Dhaka Dynamites failed to put up a battle. It was some serious batting from Rajshahi Kings to register a much needed victory. Dynamites’ batting collapsed in the first innings and put up a mere total of 138 runs. Mosaddek Hossain played well and helped his side in posting a fighting total, which eventually turned out to be an easy task for their opponents. They need to make some changes in the side as each and every game matters a lot.
Dhaka Dynamites started their Bangladesh Premier League 2016 (BPL) campaign on a winning note coming out victorious against Barisal Bulls in Match No.2 of the tournament. Both teams clashed at the Shere Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur, Dhaka where match No.1 also took place. Riding on the a 88-run stand between Kumar Sangakkara and Mehedi Maruf, Dynamites gained an easy 8-wicket win. Maruf had good partnership with Shakib Al Hasan as well, adding 48 runs for the second wicket. Maruf remained unbeaten on 75 off 45 deliveries, hitting as many 5 fours and as many sixes.
Rajshahi Kings is mostly to be led by West Indies T20 winning skipper Darren Sammy under whose captaincy West Indies have 2-titles under their belt. Mahmudullah will be leading Khulna Titans yet once again with Pakistan’s star Shahid Afridi leading Rangpur Riders for the very first time. The first 16 games of the tournament will be played at the same venue after the next 10 games will be played at Chittagong. The next 20 games including the final will again be played at Mirpur. A total of 46 games will be played in the whole tournament.
Expect some breathtaking actions for over a month as many overseas players have been drafted in the tournament. The final of the tournament will be played on December 10, 2016 at Dhaka. Each team will be play a total number of 12 games and the top four will get a nod ahead. All the games of the elimination round will be played at the same venue of Dhaka.
