India’s premier domestic tournament is back and eight teams will be battling for a spot in the semi-final. It has been a long break for all the teams — close to two months — and they will be resuming the battle for the coveted trophy once again. In the fourth quarter-final of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16, the table-toppers from Group B, Mumbai will take on the second placed team in the Group C, Jharkhand. The match will be played at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore, which is a neutral venue.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 294/5 in Overs 85; BATTING: Abhishek Nayar 18(80), Dhawal Kulkarni 10(55): The pair of Nayar and Kulkarni have added a mere 29 runs in the last 18 overs or so, scoring at a snail’s pace at the moment. Nayar has taken 80 deliveries for his 18 so far, while Kulkarni is batting on 10, with both batsmen having scored a boundary each. With the batting slowly creeping into the lower-order at the moment, the pair appear to be blocking away with the hope of not losing any further wicket till the end of the day’s play.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 234/3 in Overs 54; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 95(175), Siddhesh Lad 2(16): The solid second-wicket partnership worth 135 between Herwadkar and Surya Kumar Yadav comes to an end, with the latter getting dismissed off the bowling of Jaskaran Singh for a score of 75 off just 70 balls. Even though Jharkhand have got the breakthrough for the moment, Herwadkar is batting on 95 at at the end of the 54th over, and is a boundary and a single away from his ton. LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 190/2 in Overs 45; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 80(154), Surya Kumar Yadav 53(54): Yadav completes his half-century, while Herwadkar is batting solidly on 80 at the other end at the end of the 45th over. Meanwhile, the partnership between the two for the third wicket at the moment is worth 99, and the duo look set to bring up their respective centuries, and guide Mumbai to a massive score by the end of the day.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 143/2 in Overs 37; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 63(128), Surya Kumar Yadav 24(31): Mumbai reach a score of 143 for 2 at lunch on Day 1 of the quarter-final, and are in a commanding position at the moment. Herwadkar is currently batting on 63 at a decent strike-rate, while Yadav looks set at the other end at the moment.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 130/2 in Overs 33; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 53(113), Surya Kumar Yadav 21(22): Akhil Herwadkar brings up his half-century with the help of six boundaries in his innings so far, while Yadav has settled at the other end, and is batting on 21 off 22 balls after a four and two sixes so far in the innings.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 95/2 in Overs 25; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 35(86), Surya Kumar Yadav 4(1): The second-wicket stand between Herwadkar and Iyer comes to an end after the latter is trapped lbw off the bowling of Shahbaz Nadeem for 45 off 53 balls, with Mumbai losing their second wicket with 91 on board. In comes another reliable figure with the bat in Surya Kumar Yadav, who will look to keep the momentum going with Herwadkar, who is currently batting on 35. OUT! LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 83/1 in Overs 20; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 28(66), Shreyas Iyer 44(44): The partnership between Herwadkar and Iyer is worth 61 at the end of the 20th over, and the pair are looking strong at the moment. Iyer is one big hit away from bringing up his half-century, with Mumbai headed towards a big score at the moment.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 67/1 in Overs 16; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 24(54), Shreyas Iyer 32(32): Herwadkar and Iyer have added 45 runs for the second wicket so far, and put Mumbai in a safe position now after they lost the early wicket of Bista. Iyer meanwhile, has hit six boundaries so far to overtake Herwadkar in the current innings, with a strike rate of 100.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 22/1 in Overs 6.5; BATTING: Akhil Herwadkar 12(31), Shreyas Iyer 0(0): Group toppers Mumbai are off to a shaky start, with Bista getting bowled by Jaskaran Singh for 9 off 10 balls with just 21 runs on the board at the end of the sixth over. Mumbai had finished at the top spot in the Group B, winning 4 out of their 8 matches in the league round. The Ranji Trophy giants have not lost a single game so far this season, as there were 4 drawn games as well, and Mumbai had overall 35 points at the end. On the other hand, Jharkhand won 4 matches too, but they lost 2 and had 2 drawn matches as well. Jharkhand ended the league round at the second spot in Group C, behind Saurashtra. It would now be interesting to see how both the teams fair in this knock-out round from hereon as the competition just gets tougher and tougher from hereon. Jharkhand would vie for a definite win here as they embark on a big journey to lift the Ranji Trophy for the first time ever, while Mumbai, on the other hand, would look to reeat their heroics once again and the success they have achieved in the recent past.
