Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day Two of the fourth quarter-final of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16 between Jharkhand and Mumbai at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore on Wednesday. Mumbai are currently in a position of strength, having finished on a score of 303 for the loss of six wickets at stumps on the previous day. Akhil Herwadkar led the way with the bat, hammering a patient knock of 107 off 217 balls. Herwadkar formed a vital second-wicket partnership with Surya Kumar Yadav (75 off 70 balls) worth 136 runs that put Mumbai in the pole position.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 150/8 in overs 63, Batting: Kaushal Singh 22(56), Jaskaran 2(10): And it’s stumps! Jharkhand still batting at 150 after stumps trailing by 266 runs. The team has 2 wickets in hand and look very weak facing the Mumbai bowlers. Mumbai on the other hand put up a brilliant show scoring 416 runs in the first innings. Herwadkar and Iqbal Abdullah both bagged three wickets each for Mumbai.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 141/7 in overs 58, Batting: Kaushal Singh 10(21), Shahbaz Nadeem 0(0): Akhil Herwadkar gets his fourth wicket as the umpire has declared Shukla lbw. Jharkhand still searching that one batsman who can stand and deliver but it’s too late for that partnership or innings. Jharkhand are left with three wickets.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 120/6 in overs 47.4, Batting: Kaushal Singh 4(10), Rahul Shukla 0(0): And Jharkhand lose another wicket. Their batsmen have failed entirely as they are lacking good run and a good partnership.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 109/5 in overs 39.5, Batting: Kaushal Singh 4(10), Kumar Deobrat 10(4): Jharkhand lose yet another wicket as Ishank Jaggi is out. 100 is up for the side but they need a lot more runs which looks nearly impossible. That one partnership to change the game is still missing.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 90/4 in overs 30, Batting: Ishank Jaggi 2(6), Kumar Deobrat 4(4):And Jharkhand at backfoot. ANother couple of wickets go down and they need a partnership badly. There are not many proper batsmen left in the squad and the ones at the crease will have to take on the responsibility.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 64/2 in overs 19.6, Batting: Sp Gautam 25(33), Virat Singh 0(0): And Jharkhand lose a couple of early wickets. Things will get harder if they lose wickets further. The target is huge and the proper batsmen need to spend more time at the crease in order to get to that. Mumbai fully dominating here.

Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand 32/0 in overs 9, Batting: Sp Gautam 13(19), Anand Singh 19(25): Mumbai have put up a huge 416 in their first innings. The batsmen did exceptionally well, Abhishek Nayar scored 74 coming out at No. 6. The Jharkhand bowlers took wickets but gave away a lot of runs.

*Mumbai first innings final score 416 all out*

Live Cricket Score, Mumbai 407/8 in overs 111, Batting: Shardul Thakur 0(3), Abhishek Nayar 71(157): A brilliant innings from Abhishek Nayar as he is still at the crease at 71. Iqbal Abdullah departed making a useful 33 and Shardul Thakur is in. The innings got huge contributions from the top order and the target will be huge.

OUT! Iqbal Abdullah c Kumar Deobrat b Shahbaz Nadeem 33(37)

Live Cricket Score, Mumbai 360/7 in overs 102, Batting: Iqbal Abdullah 7(9), Abhishek Nayar 50(132): Mumbai have already put up a massive score of 360 already and still have 3 wickets in hand. Abhishek Nayar look settled and it seems like they will easily cross 400. Things are getting worse for Jharkhand. They are lacking the action from Varun Aaron here.

Mumbai, who topped Group B after remaining unbeaten (four wins and as many draws) to emerge the most dominant side of the round-robin stage, won the toss and elected to bat. The 40-time Ranji Trophy champions lost the wicket of Jay Bista (9 off 10 balls) early in their innings with just 21 runs on board. Shreyas Iyer however, provided valuable support at the other end, adding 45 runs to the team total off 53 balls while adding 70 for the second wicket. Herwadkar was ultimately the fifth wicket of the Mumbai innings, getting stumped by wicketkeeper Shiv Gautam to become Shahbaz Nadeem’s first dismissal of the innings. At the time of the close of play, skipper Abhishek Nayar was batting on 25 off a 102 deliveries, with debutant Sufiyan Sheikh yet to face a delivery as of now.
