Saurashtra look in trouble with only four wickets remaining and they still trail Himachal Pradesh by 290 runs. Saurashtra were in a fix after losing four wickets for jus 107 runs before Chirag Jani and Jaydev Shah came to the rescue. Starting the day with no loss Saurashtra’s middle order were quickly sent back to the pavilion. Himachal Pradesh on Day 2 batted the home team quite literally out making 551 runs in their first innings. Saurashtra opener Mohsin Ahmedbhai Dodia held one side of the pitch up making a defensive 43 before getting out to Bipul Sharma. Jaydev who looked good in the partnership and carried on to make unbeaten 96 till the end of days play. Sheldon Jackson was bowled by Akshay Chauhan for just 1 run, as he had failed to do justice to his batting abilities. Saurashtra would have surely been placed better if only Pujara and Jadeja would have been in the playing XI. Jaydev was equally well supported by Jani who himself made 56 before getting out few over before stumps to Akash Vasisht. Hosts also lost Saurya Sanandiya before stumps were called, meaning HP were well-placed to collect first-innings points. Jaydev and Jani had a 104-runs partnership for 4th wicket. Rishi Dhawan and Vasist were the pick of the bowlers for HP picking 2 wicket apiece.
