Jharkhand and Services will face-off on Day Two of their opening Ranji Trophy 2015-16 match at Palam in what has so far been a high-wicket contest. A total of 19 wickets fell on the first day with Jharkhand getting bowled out for 45 and the Services responding with 131 for nine. Services are ahead of Jhakhand’s first innings total by 86 runs and would like to try and swell the lead to hundred for a psychological advantage. Jharkhand’s top scorer was Rahul Shukla with 13 runs and was followed by Virat Singh with 11 runs. Apart from that, no batsman managed to even get to double figures. Their innings saw four ducks. While reaching double figures is rarely considered an achievement, it surely was in today’s context and Services were helped by the fact that five of their batsmen got there. Rajat Paliwal top-scored with 26, Yashpal Singh got 22 and Shashaank Sharma got 20. Relatively their innings only suffered three ducks. Jharkhand’s bowling effort saw wickets more evenly distributed with all four bowlers getting two wickets each.
