England will be hoping for the duo, as well as the in-form middle-order batsmen in Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow as well as tailender Moeen Ali to shine with bat once again in order to preserve England’s undefeated run in their ongoing tour so far. South Africa, on the other hand, have the best chance of pulling off a consolation victory, with Rabada displaying excellent form so far in the match, having taken seven wickets in the first innings for 112 runs. England need another 330 runs to complete a 3-0 series victory with seven wickets in hand on the final day’s play. READ: England 52/3 against South Africa at stumps on Day 4 of 4th Test
The South African top-order crumbled against a quality spell from James Anderson, getting reduced to 49 for the loss of three wickets in the morning of the fourth day before Hashim Amla (96) and Temba Bavuma (78 not out) persisted with the bat once again for their side. Amla shared a 57-run fourth wicket stand with JP Duminy (29), before his 117-run partnership with Bavuma guided the hosts to 248 for five. The Proteas would have gone further had it not been for the passing shower that halted play, with skipper AB de Villiers declaring the innings before play could resume.
