Play has been called off due to persistent rains at Colombo. Play will begin at 9.45 AM IST on Day Five. Sri Lanka need 1543 runs to win with an entire day to play.

Meanwhile, Rain has stopped play fro  beginning after the tea interval. Sri Lanka need 153 runs to win the match and level the three-match series at 1-1. Stay tuned for more details.

Sri Lanka put up a stellar performance in the first innings compared to that of Pakistan in the first innings and lead the visitors by just six runs by the end of Day 4. Sri Lanka were bundled for 315, as Pakistan have so far scored 171 for the loss of two wickets, with Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad being the men to be dismissed for eight and 69, respectively. For Pakistan, Yasir Shah had a dream spell with the ball, claiming six wickets for 96. Although not fruitful enough to restrict them to a low total, but still was considered as one of the most incredible spells in Test career for any Pakistan cricketer. Also with the bat in the second innings, apart from Hafeez, Azhar Ali is playing a healthy knock, as he remains unbeaten on 64. Kumar Sangakkara confirms he will retire after 2nd Test against India

The weather is sure to play a crucial role as most of the day’s play on Day 3 was lost due to rain and bad light owing to heavy cloud cover.
