Sri Lanka are determined to send former captain Mahela Jayawardene into retirement with a victory in the second and final Test starting Thursday against a fragile Pakistan and a 2-0 series sweep. Captain Angelo Mathews said emotions were running high in the home team’s dressing room before the match at Jayawardene’s home ground at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Colombo. Sri Lanka, determined to chase down a modest target against Pakistan and beat time and weather in the dying moments of the game and led by some inspired big hitting by Angelo Mathews chased down a 99-run target to win the first Test and lead the series 1-0 thanks to some power hitting and their spin wizard Rangana Herath bamboozling the opposition batsmen to scalp six for 48 earlier in the day.
