Hello and welcome to CricketCountry's live coverage of Day 2 of the ongoing second Test between Sri Lanka and West Indies at the P Sara Stadium in Colombo on Friday. This is Amit Banerjee here, and I shall be presenting to you the live updates from the happenings of the match. The first day of the match, which was West Indian legendary all-rounder Garry Sobers and former Sri Lankan cricketer Michael Tissera's presence, saw the visitors excel with the ball to produce a turnaround as they managed to restrict Sri Lanka to a modest total of 200. Electing to bat after winning the toss for the second time in the series, Sri Lanka lost the wicket of Kaushal Silva in the very first over, with the West Indian pace trio of Jerome Taylor, Kemar Roach and skipper Jason Holder extracting decent bounce and pace from the track. LIVE CRICKET SCORE Sri Lanka 76/2 in Overs 31; BATTING: Kaushal Silva 31(90), Dinesh Chandimal 5(29): Kusal Mendis departs after a well-made 39 off 66 balls, which helps build the platform for the Sri Lankans to target a major score on the third day. Mendis and Silva complete the 50-run stand for the second wicket, and the former looks set to bring score a fifty on international debut. It is Jomel Warrican who ultimately gets the breakthrough for his side, with Mendis getting a thick edge off the delivery that spun away from the batsman after pitching along off. OUT! Kusal Mendis c Denesh Ramdin b Jomel Warrican 39(66) LIVE CRICKET SCORE Sri Lanka 52/1 in Overs 20; BATTING: Kaushal Silva 14(63), Kusal Mendis 37(56): Silva and Mendis have added 52 runs for the second wicket so far after the completion of 20 overs. The hosts are now in firm control of the proceedings, with the two batsmen settled at the crease. The pair will look to bat out the remaining overs in the final session of the day. LIVE CRICKET SCORE Sri Lanka 30/1 in Overs 10; BATTING: Kaushal Silva 4(28), Kusal Mendis 25(31): And the West Indians strike early in their reply to the Sri Lankans after getting bowled out for 163,  dismissing Dimuth Karunaratne off the very first ball of the second innings. Devendra Bishoo takes a blinder of a catch at square-leg after Karunaratne flicks the inswinging Jerome Taylor delivery to his leg side. The Lankans however, recover from that blow soon after as Kusal Mendis hits five boundaries to guide them to 30 for 1 after 10 overs. OUT! Dimuth Karunaratne c Devendra Bishoo b Jerome Taylor 0(1) LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 163 in Overs 64.2; BATTING: Kemar Roach 17(30): It's over for the West Indians, who concede a 37-run lead at the end of their innings with the umpires calling for tea right after the last dismissal. Dilruwan Perera, who made his way into the playing eleven for the second Test in place of Tharindu Kausal, takes the remaining wickets while conceding 28 runs, including the wicket of Jason Holder. OUT! Jason Holder c Angelo Mathews b Dilruwan Perera 21(37), Jerome Taylor lbw Dilruwan Perera 1(5), Jomel Warrican c&b Dilruwan Perera 1(12) LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 137/7 in Overs 56; BATTING: Jason Holder 19(33), Kemar Roach 0(1): Ramdin and skipper Holder, the last remaining ray of hope for the visitors, add 32 runs for the seventh wicket. While Ramdin plays a cautious innings at a strike rate of around 20, while Holder goes for the more ambitious shots. Ramdin, however, is bowled embarrassingly by Herath, who picks up his first wicket of the match in the process. The West Indian wicketkeeper dances down the track ambitiously, and misses the line of the delivery pitched on the middle-stump completely, getting bowled in the process. Let's see how far can Holder stretch the innings by himself. OUT! Denesh Ramdin b Rangana Herath 14(64) LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 105/6 in Overs 43; BATTING: Denesh Ramdin 2(15), Jason Holder 0(5): The West Indians are clearly in panic mode at the moment, with their last recognished pair in Ramdin and Holder battling it out at the crease right now. Brathwaite plays a few exquisite shots during his innings, especially by coming down the track against the spinners. He is dismissed in a contentious manner off the bowling of Siriwardana, appearing to get a slight edge to the wicketkeeper. The umpire raises his finger instantaneously, and the West Indian opener loses the review after that. Blackwood brings up the 100-run mark with a massive six in the 42nd over, before getting a thick edge to the keeper off the first ball of the following over to give Prasad his fourth of the innings. OUT! Kraigg Brathwaite c Kusal Perera b Milinda Siriwardana 47(101), Jermaine Blackwood c Kusal Perera b Dhammika Prasad 16(31) Play resumes following the lunch break, with Milinda Siriwardana set to replace Rangana Herath temporarily. LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 77/4 in Overs 33; BATTING: Kraigg Brathwaite 37(85), Jermaine Blackwood 0(7): Brathwaite and Samuels were looking to steady the ship after a wave of dismissals, but the former departs after edging a Milinda Siriwardana delivery to Angelo Mathews at the slips. Poor shot selection is to blame for the dismissal of the experienced all-rounder, which occurs minutes before the lunch break. The burden of steering the West Indians now lies on the shoulders of Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood, who is yet to get off the mark. OUT! Marlon Samuels c Angelo Mathews b Milinda Siriwardana 13(53) LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 50/3 in Overs 22; BATTING: Kraigg Brathwaite 23(56), Marlon Samuels 4(23): Dhammika Prasad's devastating early spell has taken the toll of two West Indian batsmen in the first session of the second day. Prasad gets his second victim of the day when he induces Darren Bravo to prod the short-pitched delivery outside off, resulting in an inside edge onto the stumps for Bravo to depart for 2. Prasad is in the middle of a destructive spell right now, and will look forward to a couple of more scalps before the end of the first session. OUT! Darren Bravo b Dhammika Prasad 2(17) LIVE CRICKET SCORE West Indies 33/2 in Overs 11; BATTING: Kraigg Brathwaite 12(25), Darren Bravo 0(5): Dhammika Prasad is once again troubling the West Indians with the movement that he is getting from the track, as well as with his variation in length. He manages to draw first blood on Day 2 by removing nightwatchman Devendra Bishoo, who attempts to slice a delivery pitched outside off on a good length, resulting in an edge to the wicketkeeper. West Indies lose their second wicket with 33 on board, with the current position not being very different from that of Sri Lanka's around the same stage. OUT! Devendra Bishoo c Kusal Perera b Dhammika Prasad 13(33) The day however, primarily belonged to West Indian debutant Jomel Warrican, who took four wickets for 67 runs to play a major role in restricting the Sri Lankans to a total less than half of their first Test score of 484. The Barbadian got his first international wicket when wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Perera came down the track and returned a simple catch to the bowler off a full toss. Warrican later removed the dangerous-looking Milinda Siriwardana for 68, before wiping the remaining tailenders.
