Live Cricket Score UAE vs Ireland, 2nd ODI at Dubai: IRE wins the match by 8 wickets

Good morning! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the second and final One-Day International (ODI) of the short bilateral series between the hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ireland. The match is being played at the ICC Global Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai. I am Marina Thomas, and I will be bringing to you the live cricket updates from this fixture. This bilateral series is the first time that Ireland are touring the UAE. The idea behind these two games is Ireland getting some valuable practice ahead of their gruelling series against Afghanistan, whom they meet in an ODI and Twenty20 International (T20I) series in India. Under William Porterfield, the Irish will want to make good use of this final game in the gulf to get acclimatised to the subcontinental conditions. They will have to play all the ODIs and T20Is of their upcoming series against Afghanistan in Noida, India. The side will also look to make use of the experience gathered while playing the ICC World T20 2016 in India a year ago. The likes of Ed Joyce, Kevin O’Brien, Niall O’Brien, Paul Stirling, George Dockrell and Gary Williamson, who will have the onus of making major contribution on themselves, will eye getting some solid practice under their belt in this game.
UAE, on the other hand, will hope that their young side learns from such experiences. Playing a better side like Ireland is a learning curve for the young hosts, who are striving to improve in every outing. Though they lost the first match by 85 runs, they will look to put up some fight and try and level the series. Ireland, on the other hand, will look to seal the series. They enjoy a superior record over UAE, whom they have beaten in both the ODIs these two teams have played against each other.
