I am Vishal Mehra and I will be bringing you the live updates of the day’s play. There will again be two matches played in the tournament today, with India Women taking on South Africa Women at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom in first match of the day and Ireland Women facing Zimbabwe Women at North-West University No 1 Ground, Potchefstroom in the second match. Each team will have a game each left to play before the tournament heads to 3rd place play-off and the final.
India Women have won all their games with ease so far. South Africa, on the other hand, lost their previous game by 7 wickets after being bowled out for 119. It was in that game when Jhulan Goswami became the leading wicket-taker in Women’s ODIs. However, in the previous game India Women found their way to the record books with Deepti Sharma and Poonam Raut stitching 320 runs for opening wicket, the first ever triple-hundred partnership in the history of Women’s ODIs. They went on post 358 for 3 in 50 overs which is also their highest in 50-over cricket.
As for the other match, it is a do-or-die situation for Ireland who are still hunting for their maiden win in the series. Zimbabwe won their first in the series against Ireland and will hope to keep the momentum going in this clash as well.
