Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Sri Lanka in Zimbabwe 2016-17. This is Day Four of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The match is being played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. So far, Sri Lanka have the upper hand in the match with a mammoth first innings total of 537 but the hosts put up a great fight back as skipper Graeme Cremer scored his first Test ton. Zimbabwe avoided follow on despite a poor show by the top-order batsmen and are still in the game. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test at Harare

At stumps of Day Two, Zimbabwe had done a decent job as they had 88 for the loss of 1 wickets. They had lost opener Brian Chari cheaply but Hamilton Masakadza along with Tino Mawoyo had provided the team with the stability that the team needed. On Day Three morning, Suranga Lakmal’s early scalps put the visitors in the driver’s seat. It was Peter Moor and Malcolm Waller who put up some good runs and built up a partnership. Moor stayed at the crease to score his second Test half-century while Graeme Cremer scored his first Test hundred. Donald Tiripano also played a crucial knock down the order.

Lakmal and Rangana Herath were the highest wicket-takers with 3 wickets each as Zimbabwe’s innings came to and end with 373 runs. Lahiru Kumara got his maiden Test wicket as he removed a set Peter Moor for 79.
