Pakistan were well and truly in control against Bangladesh at stumps on Day Two of the first Test at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna. Earlier in the day, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan resumed with Bangladesh 236 for the loss of four wickets. However, they lost wickets in a flurry just before lunch, at which point they were eight down for 325. Shortly after the lunch, they were bundled for 332, with Mohammad Shahid and Rubel Hossain snapped up by Wahab Riaz. Opener Imrul Kayes was the highest scorer of the team with 80 runs, while Wahab was the highest wicket-taker in the innings with figures of three for 55. Following Bangladesh’s innings, it was Pakistan’s turn as the openers Hafeez and Sami Aslam put on a 50-run stand. However, Aslam was dismissed shortly thereafter, but Hafeez and Azhar Ali esnured that Pakistan suffered no more losses and ended the day firmly in control at 227 for one.
