Earlier, Pakistan started the day on 227 for the loss of a wicket, as they ended on Day 2. It was a similar start as of where it had ended. However, by the end of the first session at lunch break, it was Azhar Ali who had departed for 83 and Pakistan finished on 333 for the loss of two with the lead by just a run. The post-tea session began on a good not after skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq scored his 27th Test half-century and off 105 deliveries, including three boundaries and a couple of sixes, while Paksitan continued to steady their innings, bring up their 450. Misbah, along with Asad Shafiq put-up a 66-run stand, before Misbah fell for 59 to Taijul Islam owing to a mis-timed shot.
