Hosts Bangladesh take on African giants, South Africa on Day 4 of the first of the two-match test series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday. Dean Elgar is unbeaten on 28 while van Zyl continued to impress with 33 not out. Barely 12 overs could be bowled in the post-tea session before the weather once again reared its head. South Africa managed to reach 61 without loss, 17 runs behind Bangladesh’s first-innings score of 326. Mustafizur Rahman, who had taken 3 wickets in four balls in the first innings and 4 wickets overall, was unable to break through this time around, while Mohammad Shahid remains wicketless in this game so far. On Day 3, Dale Steyn ran out of batsmen to dismiss as he was left stranded on 399 Test wickets after helping South Africa bowl Bangladesh out for 326 on Day Three of the first Test at Chittagong. Bangladesh registered their  highest Test score against South Africa, 326, and ensured a 78-run lead after Litton Das’ maiden Test half-century. Mohammad Shahid showed that scoring quickly was not impossible, slogging his way to a 19-ball 25 with four fours and a six. Shahid proved to be a thorn in South Africa’s flesh, using his long handle with devastating effect against Harmer. The aptly-named Shahid threw his bat at the spinner, hitting him for a huge straight six. He perished trying to muscle one from Vernon Philander over cow corner only to hole out to Stiaan van Zyl.
