New Zealand will take on Pakistan in the third and concluding One-Day International (ODI) at Auckland’s Eden Park with a sense of confidence backing them. They will be boosted by the presence of Brendon McCullum in the side after his injury layoff. He will resume captaincy duties taking over from Kane Williamson. Pakistan will seek to close out the series with a win under their belts having lost the Twenty20 International (T20I) series and the first ODI at Wellington from a commanding position. The second game at Napier was washed out which mean Pakistan only have the chance of drawing the series now. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: New Zealand vs Pakistan 3rd ODI at Auckland

New Zealand have been in fantastic form. In the first game they were boosted by some fine hitting by the middle order and lower order after a disastrous start to the innings. They were reeling at 99 for 6 at one stage having faced some fine bowling from Anwar Ali, Mohammad Aamer and others but they were brought back in the contest with a fine 82 from Henry Nicholls willow along with some fanatastic hitting by the tail.

Pakistan have had some positives in the tournament. Their bowling has been particularly impressive for most part but batting has been a tad inconsistent. If they focus a bit more in that area they could overpower their hosts. For New Zealand the key is to see off the new ball against this formidable Pakistan attack and then scoring always becomes easier as seen in the first ODI.
