England and South Africa are set to face each other for their first One-Day International (ODI) Match at Bloemfontein. England lead in four-match Test series with 2-1 and one match tied as rains interrupted the match. England played poorly in Test match against Pakistan at United Arab Emirates, but showed their true skills in four-match ODI series. England will be lead by Eoin Morgan and South Africa will be lead by all time ODI cricketer AB de Villiers. England’s skipper in Test match Alastair Cook scored just 184 runs at an average of 23. His performance was at low but his innings in fourth Test stood out along with Joe Root with 76 runs, unfortunately he has been rested for ODI series. Root has been in good form right since Ashes, he was third highest run-getter in Test series, gathering 386 runs from four games with superb average of 55.14, which also counts his century. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow are also some commendable players to root out for in the ODI matches, with Stokes bagging all-round players tag in true sense with his 411 runs at an average of 58.71 and he also was ‘Man of the Series’. Bairstow collected 359 runs at an average of 70. Both the batsmen bagged a long run partnership of 6th wicket. South Africa also shone with their performance with Stephen Cook called upon at last moment and his breath taking 100 on his debut was worth to vouch for. Hashim Amla might have not had resounding performance in first and third Tests, but his double century in second Test was to watch out for when his team was looking for batsman to help them chase the runs. The short all-rounder for South Africa, Temba Bavuma gained 248 runs at an average of 50. He became the talk of the town with his knock by first black South African. Lastly, Kasigo Rabada will be the man England need to be aware of with his best figures of 3 for 175 in third Test and maiden five-wicket haul which went in vain since South Africa lost the third Test match. South Africa and England have a balanced side and younger set of cricketers on their side. This will be an interesting ODI match to look forward as South Africa had a disastrous ODI matches in 2015 and England ended their year with outstanding performance towards the end of the year.
