South Africa and England embrace on a Twenty20 International (T20I) series  as they both gear up to play each other in the first T20I at the Newlands Stadium at Cape Town on Friday. This contest promises to be a cracker of a series, heading into ICC World T20 2016 in India. This will be the first of the two T20Is both the teams are to play in, with the second match taking place at Johannesburg. South Africa will go through a change of guard with Faf Du Plessis taking over from AB de Villiers as the teams skipper. South Africa’s squad is the same as that has been selected for  the World Twenty20. England have two players who are not taking the trip to India  — Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes —  Left-arm spinner Liam Dawson, who is included in the World T20 squad, has been flown into South Africa to train with the England team. Former South African batsman Neil McKenzie will act as a batting consultant during the T20 series, will continue till the World T20 in India.

England did play a tour game against South Africa A on Wednesday, which they won by 44 runs, with Alex Hales continued his excellent form striking a brilliant 52-ball 78. Skipper Eoin Morgan’s superb hitting was in prime form as England went past 200. Morgan made 42 in just 13 deliveries, which included as any as five sixes.
