Zimbabwe take on Ireland in the first One-Day International (ODI) at Harare. The last time these two sides met was in in the group stages of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, where Ireland won a thriller by five runs. Ireland, batting first posted a mammoth 331 on the board riding on a brilliant 112 from Ed Joyce. For Zimbabwe it was an excellent ton by Brendan Taylor and a 96 from Sean Williams that got them close to the Ireland total, but fell short eventually. Zimbabwe will want to avenge that defeat in their home soil, beginning with the first off three ODIs. Live Scorecard: Zimbabwe vs Ireland 2015, 1st ODI at Harare

Ireland on the other hand will be looking to make the best use of the limited opportunities they are given by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on this tour to Zimbabwe. Skipper William Porterfield will want to win the series and make a point that Ireland are capable of competing with the Test sides and beating them as well. Ireland also beat West Indies in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
