Good morning/afternoon! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of India in South Africa series. This is the second day of second Test and here you will get all the scores and live updates from the match. India shocked one and all on the opening day with their team selection, dropping Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Ishant Sharma for what Virat Kohli said ‘extra pace’. The decision did not go very well, as Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla notched up 80 plus scores on Day One pitch at Centurion. South Africa were 269 for 6 at stumps on Day One.

Mohammed Shami led the pace attack but could not taste any success on Day One. Dean Elgar, along with 4-Tests old Markram, stitched an 85-run partnership before getting out for 31. Markram then continued with Amla, building a 63-run partnership but missed on his century by 6 runs. Another effective partnership was formed between de Villiers and Amla of 51 runs. Ashwin struck thrice on Day One, creating as many opportunities as possible as ball started turning. This barred the South Africa middle-order from scoring runs in bulk after a steady start. Ishant removed de Villiers. Another Indian cricketer who impressed a lot was Hardik Pandya. He bowled impressively, and effected two run outs.

South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis in unbeaten with Keshav Maharaj, who is a decent lower-order batsman. India would want this partnership not to grow and use the early-morning track to the fullest.
