Germany kept their hopes alive with a 1-1 draw against Spain in a crucial Group E encounter of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday. After a barren first half, substitute Alvaro Morata gave Spain the lead in the 62nd minute. But Spain’s joy was shortlived as Niclas Fullkrug scored the equaliser for Germany with seven minutes to go, snatching a draw from the mouth of Spain. Luis Enrique’s men top Group E with four points from two games followed by Japan. Costa Rica and Germany take the final two slots in the group.
