Disciplined bowling by India saw West Indies reeling at 140 for five at the end of the 25th over in the fifth ODI at Chennai on Sunday. West Indies still require 128 runs with five wickets remaining.


Irfan Pathan had a dream comeback dismissing opener Lendl Simmons on the very first ball of the second innings.


The left-arm pacer then bagged his second wicket when he bowled Kieran Powel (15).


On the other end, Australia bound Abhimanyu Mithun too used the new ball well to dismiss Marlon Samuels (6) and Jason Mohammad (2).


Denesh Ramdin and Kieron Pollard then put up a 42-run partnership for the fifth wicket to steady the West Indies innings.


But Ravindra Jadeja, much against the run of play had Ramdin caught in front of the wickets to break the partnership.


Pollard found an able partner in Andre Russell as they tried to shore the visitors inning.


Pollard was batting on 61, while Russell was unbeaten on 31.


Earlier, Manoj Tiwary scored his maiden ODI century as India scored 267 for six.


Tiwary, who was drafted in the team for this match, made the most of the opportunity, striking 104 off 126 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six. Virat Kohli contributed 81.
