Chasing 276 runs, Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have steered India to 38 without loss of any wicket in second session.

West Indies were earlier bundled out for a paltry score of 180 runs in the second innings. Spinner R Ashwin who scalped wickets on the morning of day three was too good to handle for the Caribbean team.

R Ashwin scalped six wickets in second innings as West Indies batsmen looked helpless on a dicey pitch at Kotla.

Starting the day with two wickets down, West Indies lost their first wicket in form of tail-ender Fidel Edwards. Batting has been difficult for both the teams on a tricky Kotla track.

Earlier, after restricting West Indies to 304, riding on Pragyan Ojha’s career-best six for 72, the hosts’ batting collapsed like a house of cards to be bundled out for a paltry 209 on an unpredictable Feroz Shah Kotla track on a day, which saw as many as 17 wickets fall.

All eyes will be on the start given by Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Also the experienced middle-order batsmen would play a crucial role in the run chase on the tricky pitch at Kotla.

Brief Scores: West Indies 304 (Shivnarine Chanderpaul 118, Kraigg Braithwaite 63; Pragyan Ojha 6 for 72, R Ashwin 3 for 81) & 180 (Shivnarine Chanderpaul 47, Darren Sammy 42, Kirk Edwards 33; R Ashwin 6 for 47, Umesh Yadav 2 for 36) lead India 209 (Virender Sehwag 55, Rahul Dravid 54; Darren Sammy 3 for 35, Ravi Rampaul 2 for 44) & 38 for no loss (Virender Sehwag 20*, Gautam Gambhir 17*) by 238 runs.
