Highlights PAK vs NZ 1st ODI, Karachi: Rizwan's Fifty Help PAK Beat NZ By 6 Wickets
Highlights Pakistan vs New Zealand 1st ODI, Karachi Updates: Babar Azam-led Pakistan defeated Kane Williamson’s New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first ODI of three-match series at the National Stadium Karachi. They chased down 256 runs target comfortably with 11 balls remaining.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand didn’t get a good start as Naseem Shah sent Devon Conway back in the first over itself on a duck. New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals. They failed to build huge partnerships at any point in the game.
Finn Allen (29), Kane Williamson (26), Daryl Mitchell (36), Tom Latham (42), Glenn Phillips (37), and Michael Bracewell (43) got a good start but none of them could turn their knock into a big score and as a result, NZ could only manage to put 255 runs on board. Naseem Shah was the star bowler as he grabbed yet another fifer and broke the backbone of NZ’s batting.
Pakistan on the contrary got a good start from their openers and the half-centuries from Fakhar Zaman (56) and Babar Azam (66) helped the team take a stand in the middle and then the show was stolen by Pakistan’s star wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan who played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 77 runs and ensured the victory for his team.
