Australia will face India in Day One of the  first Test at Adelaide on Tuesday. The match had been postponed due to the tragic demise of 25-year old Australian batsman Phillip Hughes. It will also mark the debut Test as Test captain for Virat Kohli, who will lead India in the absence of MS Dhoni who is out injured.

Before the match, Mitchell Johnson said that Australia will not back down from bowling bouncers, because that is the way they play their cricket. “We have got to play the way we have been playing and that has been aggressive … if that is bowling the short ball like we have been, then that will be what we do. The vibe is good, everyone is keen to get out there and play some cricket now. We have got to wait and see how we feel when we get out there, everybody will feel a little bit different.”, he told cricket.com.au.

About the presence of Michael Clarke as captain, Johnson said, “It’s a huge boost to have him back in and playing for us and with his captaincy. And it shows how strong he has been over the last couple of weeks with the tragedy we have had. He is a strong leader and has always been an aggressive leader … he just has something about him when he’s out there as captain.”

Also, being the first Test after Hughes’ demise, Australia have included him  as the 13th man. Hughes’ death has shocked and saddened the whole cricket community, especially the Australian team, who seem to be most affected. All the players will also wear Hughes’ No 408 in his memory.
