With their resounding victory in the third One-Day International (ODI), India have wrapped up the series against Sri Lanka 3-0 with two games to play. The hosts have thrashed the island nation in all three games, and look like continuing their charge in the last two matches as well.

India’s top order has consistently fired, with Shikhar Dhawan leading the way. The left-arm opener has scored a hundred and two big fifties to get India off to positive starts in each of the first three games. He has been ably supported by the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, and Suresh Raina.

However, Dhawan has been rested for the last two matches, and will be replaced at the top by Rohit Sharma and/ or Robin Uthappa. What is interesting is that Rahane has retained his slot, but with the absence of a regular ‘keeper, Uthappa will most likely get to play. What this means is that two out of Uthappa, Rohit, and Rahane will open. With Rohit scoring a superb 142 while opening the innings in the practice game, the management could look to push Rahane back down the order to No. 3 or No. 4 and see how he does there.
