South Africa will begin their home, Test campaign, against West Indies at Centurion on Wednesday. The Proteas start off as favourites against the West Indians who have been struggling in the longest format.

For South Africa, Hashim Amla‘s captaincy will be put to Test in his first home series since he took over the captaincy reigns from Graeme Smith. The West Indians, will rest much of their hopes on the experience of likes of Marlon Samuels. Samuels batted well for a double century against the South African Invitational XI. Sheldon Cottrell is another player, the West Indians will hope to continue his good form, after he bagged a 5 wicket haul in the warm up game.
