Auckland will have to pick themselves up from their loss to the Kolkata and go into a match that they know might not do anything for their qualification chances even if they win it. Somerset, on the other hand, have everything to play for and two wins in two matches will be the target for the English side.

Auckland did everything but win their first match against Kolkata. And there might be a few members of the Aces team who are still wondering how they managed to stuff up a chase of just 121 in a Twenty20 match. Auckland did have a few positives from the match, notably the performance of their bowlers.

Somerset have landed without a few of their key players in Marcus Trecothick, while Craig Kieswetter and Jos Buttler are reportedly unavailable for selection owing to England duties. However, in spite of the depleted side, Somerset have enough in their ranks to look forward to a good battle. Their biggest strength is likely to be their range of slower bowlers, with Murali Kartik leading the way.

Somerset: Chris Jones, Nick Compton, Lewis Gregory, James Hildreth, Peter Trego, Roelof van der Merwe, Arul Suppiah, Steve Snell (wk), Alfonso Thomas (c), Murali Kartik, Max Waller

Auckland: Gareth Hopkins(c & wk), Lou Vincent, Rob Quiney, Colin Munro, Kyle Mills, Chris Martin, Ronnie Hira, Martin Guptill, Michael Bates, Jimmy Adams, Andre Adams
