Australia and India battle it out on Day Four of the opening game of the four-Test series at the Adelaide Oval on Friday. India had earlier finished on a score of 369 for the loss of five wickets at the end of Day Three, with Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha batting on scores of 33 and one respectively. Mitchell Johnson and Nathan Lyon took two wickets each for Australia, conceding 90 and 103 runs respectively. The star of the day however, was the Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his knock of 115 from 184 balls.

After Australia declared their first innings at the overnight score of 517 for seven, India finished the day at 369 for five with Virat Kohli making his seventh Test hundred and Pujara himself scoring a fine 73.  Pujara looked set for a big one before an enticing duel with Lyon had him bowled. Lyon had bowled a good spell in the middle, purchasing turn and bounce. Later in the day, it was even more profound.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s dazzling strokeplay continued. Some of the shots he played through the off-side stood out. Anything a bit straight was flicked through the leg-side. Rahane was dismissed for 62 and Rohit Sharma joined Kohli in the middle.
