England will look to avenge themselves for the narrow loss in the first One-Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka during the second match at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, on Saturday. Moeen Ali’s recordbreaking century in the first game could galvanise England ahead of a gruelling seven-match ODI series.

Sri Lanka will still be licking the wounds they suffered against India, and will be looking to set the record straight against England, who have were also outclassed by India earlier this year. In fact, England also lost to Sri Lanka at home during the latter’s tour of England earlier in the summer.

England have had a terrible year in ODIs, as they lost 12 of the 17 matches they have played so far. However, the fact that they came within 25 runs of what would have been a superb victory speaks volumes of the talent they possess. They will need their big guns to fire, while also keeping the runs down against a belligerent Sri Lankan batting line-up.
