Prithvi Shaw lived up the hype around his India debut hitting a magnificent century against West Indies on Day 1 of the first Test in Rajkot. Opening the innings at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Shaw scored a maiden century off 99 deliveries after India lost KL Rahul for a duck in the first over.

The 18-year-old dominated a depleted Windies attack with 19 fours in his 134 off 154 before being caught and bowled by spinner Devendra Bishoo with the second session drawing to a close.

It didn’t take long for other cricket stars and celebrities to praise his effort.
