Luke Ronchi booed during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Final at Melbourne Cricket Ground

Melbourne: Luke Ronchi, the New Zealand, wicketkeeper was booed during the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Ronchi has played five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for Australia, before he moved to New Zealand, the country of his birth to further his cricketing ambitions. Ronchi was first booed when his name was announced before the start of the game. He then walked out to bat at 150 for five in the 36th over and there were some booes even then. Australia and New Zealand are trans-Tasman rivals and have had the rivalry across sports for years. On the cricketing front, playing the World Cup final could be the biggest moment in their bilateral cricketing history.
