Devendra Fadnavis, the newly-elected chief minister of Maharashtra, will be sworn in at the Wankhede stadium on 31 October. The ICC World Cup 2011 final was played at the Wankhede stadium.
Atul Shah of the party’s media cell was quoted as saying by Economic Times” It will be a never-before-seen swearing in ceremony in the history of Maharashtra. About 150 party workers, including 15 heads of as many units, are taking care of different event-related activities that have been put in place for the Friday event.”
“The space on which the stage is being set up is usually dark so additional floodlights are being arranged. The lights will be mounted on the two stages. For security reasons, we are told, two pavilions MCA and Garware, which are close to the main stage, may be left vacant,” said Ramesh Mahamulkar, curator of the Wankhede stadium.
