Manoj Tiwary got a century as East Zone were bundled out for 278  in the Duleep Trophy quarter-final match against West Zone played at Lahli, Haryana on Wednesday.

Cheteshwar Pujara won the toss and elected to field first at Lahli. East Zone got a decent start as they were at 83 for 3 after 33 overs. Sudip Chatterjee was dismissed after scoring 37 runs. Saurabh Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha were dismissed after scoring 17 and 4 respectively. Tiwary and Laxmi Ratan Shukla took the team to recovery as they built a solid sixth wicket partnership before Shukla was dismissed on 54.

At tea, East Zone had reached 200 for the loss of 7 wickets in 57 overs. Tiwary soon reached his fifty from 86 balls which included three boundaries and one six. He was dropped by Yusuf Pathan when he was batting on 72. Manoj Tiwary was batting on 91 runs when East Zone lost the ninth wicket. But he managed to complete his century just before Ashok Dinda was run-out.
